How do I stop my web browser from printing extra information in the header and footer area?
If you are using Internet Explorer:
1. Click the "File" menu at the top of the browser. Then choose "Page Setup."
2. In the "Headers and Footers" section, select all text that is currently in the field for "Header" and delete the text so the field is empty.
3. In the "Headers and Footers" section, select all text that is currently in the field for "Footer" and delete the text so the field is empty.
4. Click the "OK" button.
If you are using Firefox:
1. Click the "File" menu at the top of the browser. Then choose "Page Setup."
2. Click the tab for "Margins & Header / Footer."
3. In the "Headers and Footers" section, you will see three columns labeled, "Left," "Center," and "Right." Each column has two drop down menus in it. Click into to each drop down menu and choose "--blank--."
4. When you have set all drop down menus in the "Headers and Footers" section to "--blank--," click "OK."
If you are using Safari (Leopard version – Mac OS X):
5. Click the "File" menu at the top of the browser. Then choose "Print."
6. To the right of the drop down menu for "Printer," you will see a downward arrow indicating more options. Click the downward arrow to display more options.
7. At the bottom of the screen showing additional options, uncheck the box for "Print headers and footers."
8. Click the "Print" button to print and save your settings.
